The Georgina Leisure Pool will be closed as of 11 a.m. today, Jan. 14, 2026, until further notice due to an emergency mechanical repair. All programs and activities have been cancelled until further notice. All registered program participants will be contacted.

Recycling cart collection begins Jan. 5, 2026, with recycling collected every two weeks using the new 360-litre wheeled carts.

The Civic Centre will be closed from noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025 until Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, inclusive, with regular service resuming Friday, Jan. 2, 2026. 

For emergencies about animal control, roads, water or wastewater, call 905-476-4301 and follow the prompts to reach on-call services. For Municipal Law Enforcement, call 905-476-4301, ext. 3006. If the call goes to voicemail, leave a message and an officer will investigate. All other urgent matters during this time can be emailed to info@georgina.ca.

With the start of automated recycling cart collection on Jan. 5, 2026, residents will no longer need to use blue boxes. Residents are encouraged to reuse or repurpose their old blue boxes for storage or other household uses where possible.

For anyone who wants to recycle their old blue boxes, the Town will be hosting three drop-off locations from Jan. 5 to Jan. 19, 2026. 

Georgina, ON – The Town of Georgina is pleased to welcome Milwaukee Tool, a global leader in professional cordless power tools, accessories and hand tools, as the newest major tenant in the Keswick Business Park. Milwaukee Tool will use a space of 54,000 square feet to operate a major Service Hub, strengthening Georgina’s position as a growing hub for logistics, manufacturing and service operations in northern York Region.

The holidays are a time to gather and celebrate with friends and family, and the Town is implementing a temporary holiday on-street parking exemption so residents and visitors don’t have to move their vehicles, except when winter operations are underway. The holiday parking exemption will be in effect from noon Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, to end of day Friday, Jan. 2, 2026. Municipal Enforcement will not ticket vehicles parked for more than three consecutive hours and between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.
