Overview
The Operations and Infrastructure Department maintains the Town of Georgina’s Keswick and Sutton Water Distribution Systems, including necessary preventative maintenance and infrastructure replacement projects.
Polybutylene water service connections installed in the 1980s have reached the end of their expected service life and are beginning to fail. These service connections need to be replaced to eliminate water leaks and reduce service disruptions. The Town has identified areas in Keswick where polybutylene water services were installed. The polybutylene services will be replaced on an annual basis.
Project updates
Construction in 2025
There will be approximately 190 water service lines replaced on Lake Drive South in the spring of 2025. The construction is anticipated to commence in late April 2025 and be completed by July 2025. Notification of the start of construction will be sent and signs have been erected.
Disturbances include typical construction noise, road and lane closures, limited driveway access and temporary water shut-offs. Affected residents will be notified in advance of any disturbances.
