Information Technology Division
The Information Technology Division is responsible for supporting corporate goals and objectives and maintaining efficient government operations by effectively planning, implementing and supporting the appropriate and innovative use of technology and its related infrastructures used throughout the municipality.
We provide technical leadership, education and other services in support of a variety of electronic and specialized technology-based systems, corporate Local Area Networks (LAN's), Virtual Private Network (VPN), telecommunication and voicemail systems, mobile computing devices, Geographical Information System (GIS) and security/fire alarm systems.
This division is also responsible for developing corporate technology strategies, assisting departments in integrating and streamlining business processes, technology continuity planning, policy and procedure development, emergency communications, provisioning internet access, hosting e-mail services, maintaining and supporting corporate websites, providing technical guidance and recommendations, as well as, providing support and end-user training to Members of Council, employees and other authorized users of municipal technical resources.
