Training Division

Training Officer Robin Chadwick oversees the day-to-day operations of the Training Division. Training Officer Chadwick began with the Keswick Fire Department in September 1983 as a Volunteer Fire Fighter. He was promoted to Volunteer Captain in 1988, hired full time with the Town of Georgina Fire Department in 1989. In February 2005, he was promoted to Acting Lieutenant and then promoted to Training Officer in April 2005.

Training Officer Chadwick co-ordinates, designs and delivers all training programs for the Georgina Fire Department’s full-time and volunteer personnel. In addition to the initial and ongoing fire fighting and rescue training, Robin oversees the training for specialized operations including Automated External Defibrillation, Ice/Water Rescue and Hazardous Materials Response, new Recruit Training, Trainer Facilitators and specializes in Self Contained Breathing Apparatus. He is currently continuing his education at the Ontario Fire College and is enrolled in the Company Officers Course as well as training courses through the Canadian Coast Guard.

Reporting to the Deputy Fire Chief, Robin works a rotating shift in order to achieve the completion of our training objectives for the Departments needs.
