Fire Chief
The Georgina Fire Department is under the leadership of Fire Chief Bill O誰eill. Chief O誰eill began as a volunteer with the Georgina Fire Department in 1980. He was hired as one of the first two full time fire fighters in 1987. In 1990, Bill was promoted to Fire Prevention Officer. He served as Fire Prevention Officer until 1998 when he was promoted to Deputy Chief and in September 2001, Bill was promoted to Fire Chief.
Chief O誰eill is a Certified Municipal Manager who holds a Fire Protection Technology Diploma and a Fire Prevention Technology Diploma from the Ontario Fire College.
Chief O誰eill is responsible for the administration of the Georgina Fire Department. Under his command are 60 personnel, a fleet of 18 apparatus in three stations, and he manages an annual budget of approximately 2.5 million dollars. He is located in Station 1 4, (Headquarters) 165 The Queensway South, Keswick, ON L4P 3S9
Chief O誰eill is assisted by his Administrative Assistant Barb Griffith. Barb began with the Georgina Fire Department in 1998. Prior to the Georgina Fire Department, Barb worked in the Metropolitan Toronto Council Offices.
