NO CHARGE

New: Fluorescent tubs and energy efficient light bulbs are now accepted.

New: Tires are now accepted at the transfer station free of charge for residents.

Conditions

• York Region residents only (proof of residence is required)
• No commercial, industrial or medical office wastes accepted.
• Ammunition, PCBs or radioactive wastes are not accepted. Please contact the local York Region Police Branch.
• Needles and syringes from household medicinal use will be accepted in rigid containers only. No other pathological wastes will be accepted.
• Motor vehicle batteries and oil filters will also be accepted.
• Make sure all materials are in original containers or contents are very well marked on containers.
• Do not mix different products together. Be sure containers are capped. Containers must be deposited with waste materials and are not returnable.

Household Hazardous Waste Day List of Accepted Products

• POISON including pesticides, chemicals, insect poisons, bleach, cleaning fluids, fertilizers, fungicides, insecticides, antifreeze, pool chemicals.
• FLAMMABLE including paints, solvents, oils, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, BBQ starter, paint stripper, paint brush cleaner, primer.
• EXPLOSIVE including aerosols, propane cylinders.
• CORROSIVE including batteries, drain cleaners, oven cleaners, disinfectants.
