Building Division
The Building Division is primarily responsible for the issuance of building permits and enforcing the Ontario Building Code. Permits are required for all detached structures exceeding 10 square metres and all additions and renovations including wood stoves, fireplaces, and decks. This division consists of Building Inspectors who generally administer the Ontario Building Code and work with Zoning Examiners who are responsible for conveying the various provisions of the zoning by-laws including such things as building set backs.
